Journey of Love was included in the “Let’s Talk About Love: Valentine 2023” international online group exhibition and published in The Book of Arts: Valentine.
This mixed-media photo painting combines an impromptu photograph of a young couple tracing a heart in the sand with their toes on a St. Petersburg beach with railroad tracks photographed near Waycross, Georgia. The composite places the couple’s small gesture of affection into the longer path of a railroad journey, suggesting both the hope of young love and the long, sometimes turbulent journey that real love often requires.
The layered digital collage is enhanced with a light touch of paint in places. The work is part of an ongoing Journey of Love series.
