Paris Political Scene by Notre Dame Cathredral copy1200

Paris Political Scene By Notre Dame Cathedral.was photographed in March, 2016, at the height of the U.S. presidential campaign. What interests me about this image is how the political signage dissects and divides the otherwise iconic medieval Catholic church. The poster for Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, in fact, almost exactly divides the image in half. To me, this image speaks to the underlying currents – political, economic and social – that always swirl around all scenes that are on the surface bucolic, beautiful and ageless.
